1a)what is the modus operandi(method of operating) of the con artist? It means that con artist posing as a volunteer from welfare organisation on a project to spruce up the homes of these senior citizen .Doing this will lets the unsuspecting victim let them into their house. When they didn't pay attention to them they will steal their cash.
b)What are the Lion befrienders planning to do to ensure the old folk do not get conned again? They will ensure the experience or full time staff to introduce to the new volunteer to the senior citizen to ensure they recognised who they are, so that if they are con artist, the senior will reveal the truth.
2)Do you like social work ?Why or Why not?
Yes, but i do not like to do social work cause i think it is a waste of time in a way and i dun like to interact with others. It is not easy to be volunteer i think cause it not just about kind hearted but include patient and understanding, willingness and of course need to bear with their temper and must not think they are smelly or something like that.i like social work because when i seen in the TV show they every time volunteer help the senior citizen to do work they would be happy. When seeing them happy me myself also will get happy.Although i like to see them happy but do not have the patience with them.To befriends with the senior citizen also an hard job because everyone is unique in their own way ,some are easy-going ,some are hot tempered some are arrogant ,some likes to tell story about the past ,so volunteer must goes into their life to find out what they likes ,what they do not like and also the food they eat, their medical condition to help them when there is trouble and the hobby so as to entertain them to make them happy and tidy up the place for them .I think even the 'real' volunteer them self might not have all of these component. Being a volunteer also need true heart,if you think you want to do it just to finish a school project earning CIP hour or present it to a girl to let them think that your are a good man this is just doing it for the sake of doing it.

term 3 week 4
1a) Why is it easy for burglers to break into stalls at the two markets in the Kallang area?
The two market at the Kallang areas makes an easy target for burglers to break into because the units are open at the top ,leaving it exposed to the thief. The other problem is that the stall holders like to put their money in their stall thinking that it will be safe .even thought a stall holder Mdm Chen had install a metal bar connecting over the front to give some protection to the money and cigarettes, but thief have an advantage to steal her money by tying a raffia string to a basket, lowering it into the stall.they use a broom to sweep the coins on the open container into the basket and they then hoisted.
b) What is the Geylang East Central Merchants' Association going to do about the break-ins?
The Geylang East Central Merchants' associations, which oversees the Aljunied Avenune 2 hawker centre, held a meeting about the break in a week after. The Chairman Tan Seng Peng decided they would look into the improving the security and might modify the stall layout.NEA responded that those stallholder who want to equip their stalls with additional security feature like grilles could apply to do so. They also was going to make a drawing and measurement of the feature they plan to install to ensure they fall within height requirement. The stall holder had to pay administrative fees on $16 as well as paying a reinstatement deposit before work start.
2) What do you think should be done to tighten the security of the markets? What do you think of the burglars who brazenly break into the stalls?
I think they should ''cover'' the possible places of the food centre for the thieves to enter and make something can prevent the thief from climbing up the metal poles and pipes like building a height of the metal poles higher or building another wall long enough to prevent them to climbing over. The stall holder also must do their job by keeping the money and valuable with them every time the leave the stall even if it was in a peak hour. They should also buy insurance to guard against their valuables. The in-charges of this two market should install grilles and cameras in every two to three stalls.the two market stall holder should work together and try to catch the thieves so that the stall holder can safely go back to work. I think that they my find this chance to get cash, Though there is no valubles, they are still hard work that the people in the market work for.

term 3 week 3
Why is cheerleading an expensive sport?
1)It is expensive as there is a lot of money spent on the cheer leaders are high in cost just for one cheerleader, the cost of the products that are needed to prepare for the cheer leading competitions are very costly. The hair products cost $50 for each competition, the tailored costumes cost $100 - $400 each, nutritional supplements and vitamins for boosting their energy cost $50 - $130 per bottle, medical insurance Which are usually covered by schools and organisations cost $30 - $100 per person which add up to the total of a few thousand dollars exclusive of their salary. not only the cheer leader must be looking good, they also must be in perfect conditions and they must be strong enough to carry each other with harsh training about 2-5 times a week, with more than four hour of training which can prove to be very tiring.
2)What is your opinion of cheerleaders? If given a chance, would you join cheer leading? Why/ why not?
I believe that chearleading are inapporperaite job as ther is a lot of inconviniency and they are risky which would involve injuries and it might be major one that will be permanent, this might happen to most of the cheer leaders as majority of them are very young and after the injury which they would not want to have and they will not have their chance to do most of the things that they might want to do like playing sports, swimming and things that require a lot of movement and the injuries might also affect their daily life, and the traning to be a cheerleader might be to tough for most of the people. Cheerleading is not an easy job so people should really think twice before joining as it may be a great change in lives which includes people around you.

Q1)What are some of the problems involved in separating a conjoined twin?
The problems are that if they go through the operation, they have to take certain risks like getting killed as, there is one case where both the twins got killed while separating from each other as there is blood loss and died after that, those Conjoined twins are very unfortunate to be born this way.
Q2)If you were a part of a conjoined twin, would you rather stay together with your twin for the rest of your life or would you risk both your lives to go for an operation? Why?
No, i will not stay together and i will take the risks as it would be hard to move around as the other twin are forced to follow you around, if one of them decide to go and the other is not willing, there will be quarrel and even lead to a fight, you will have to be extra careful like drinking, eating and writing and it can be solved by operation, because these day technologies are very good and we took this risk for our own good take this risk even if it fails and either one or both die, we should take up our responsibility as it is our choice and other should respect instead of discouraging us.

Businesses are still big on doing good(Part B – Home Section – Page B6 – The Home Market)1)Q1)What are big companies doing in order to be more socially responsible?
They not cutting down on their Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) who is one of the so -called project of being socially responsible. For Sing Tel,they support CSR by initiatives focusing on youth, education and environment.for environment they are cutting down carbon emission and the cutting down they use of paper..This includes teaching they children over there and build basketball court in some rural areas.Big companies chose to make the risk to make a social impact without the need to spend large amounts of money. This perspective has not considered the social and ethical dimensions of organizational resources. The main objective of the article is to show that business can be profitable and socially responsible at the same time.
Q2)How important it is to be socially responsible? And do you think it is still possible to make a social impact during the recession?
Socially responsible is part of our life as Social responsibility is an ethical or ideological theory that an entity whether it is a government, corporation, organizationor individual has a responsibility to society. This responsibility can be "negative", meaning there is a responsibility to refrain from acting (resistance stance) or it can be "positive," meaning there is a responsibility to act (proactive stance). so it is very important , nothing is impossible if you do it correctly and at all times, even the chances are slim there is still hopes.

Q1) What are some of the things that schools in Singapore are doing in order to take care of the environment?
Some things that schools in Singapore are doing in order to preserve the environment, for example is to educate their pupils like us on the 3r's (reduce, reuse and recycle) used materials like glass, paper, aluminium and plastics instead of just throwing them to the dustbin.
Q2) Do you think one person's effort in reducing, reusing and recycling will make a difference in saving the environment? What steps have you taken in the effort to save the earth
yes, everybody can play their part to save the environment as we are responsible for all our action and we ought to make up for our mistake, when we recycle, it can save a lot effort for the earth thought it is only a small contribution, can cause a big change as when you recycle, you can also prevent disaster such as when you burn unrecycled materials like plastics, they will give out lots of carbondoxide and it will cause ozone depletion which will lead to gobal warming.

Q1)How does the treatment programme of the Singapore Prison Service help sex offenders?
They would be assessed on factors that shape their likelihood to re-offend such as how deviant their sex habits are, their attitudes towards sex offences and their history, after that they go through three programs. The first is how to defeat the secrecy, shame and denial surrounding their acts. The second one is to break up the thinking of sex.In the final one is to know how to develop a relapse prevention plan.Outside prison, they are treated by their family's help , counselling and the volunteers help them to find a job to keep them busy.
Q2)Do you think that sex offenders should be given a second chance in the society? State your reasons.
Yes, everyone should be given a second chance to repent themself , the conditions are letting them go counciling until they finally learn that they can do something useful as they may contribute to the society to make it about their past If the the prisoner is like the prisoner Bala Kuppusamy who always goes in and out of prison ,we should not forgive him until he has reached the stage like in the above prisoner I mentioned. I think there is no way for him to change unless he fully absorbs the pain he inflicted to the victim that would be an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth, if we let him off to easy, he will continue as he, knowing that every action aganist the law will just sentence him to jail.
